Article on my favourite festival diwal in 250 words | my favourite festival | line on my favourite festival diwali | Diwali festival of lights essay
My favorite festival is Diwali, which is often regarded as a festival of joy and light in my country. It is celebrated all throughout the country with equal fervor and togetherness and brings people from various aspects of society under the same roof.
People of all age celebrate in their own ways by bursting crackers, distributing sweets, praying to goddess Laxmi and sharing wishes.
The joyous occasion is celebrated as a mark of return of Lord Rama after defeating the evil Ravana, back to his home where the natives welcomed him with lamp pots and fireworks.
The victory of good over evil sends the message that no matter how tough the challenges are in our life, we can overcome them and spread light. Everybody in my neighborhood is very careful of not hurting any street dogs and other animals and not causing pollution so we burst very few crackers and celebrate peacefully.
People dress nicely and touch the feet of their elders to seek their blessings and pay respect to the elderly. In the evening the sky is lit up with beautiful fireworks and we often go on our rooftop and watch it for hours. The beauty of my country is enhanced a 100 times on this joyous occasion and that is why it is my most favorite day of the year.
